Are you on a road you never wanted to go down? Does your heart cry out, "God, please take this: God, I need You now?" Or maybe there are no words because the pain has settled into a deep yearning beyond words. . .
You're not alone. This song is a lament--a sorrow-filled cry to God. God knows these songs. He loves them. He loves the people who pray and sing them. And He loves the people who can't because they're doubled over. When we can't put words to our prayers or songs, God provides the words for us in psalms like Psalm 42, and in songs like this one by Plumb.
Let this song pray for you. Take a look at Psalm 42 today. The honesty might surprise you.
May the Lord allow some rest for you this weekend. Cry out to God using today's video, Psalm 42, or your own broken words.
We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26 (NIV)

To all of you precious widows out there, desperately seeking God's will and meeting with silence, I offer you this from the footnotes of my NIV Bible:
ReplyDeleteGod’s will may come in stages. Just as the time in Haran was a transition period for Abram, so God may give us transition periods and times of waiting to help us depend on Him and trust His timing. If we patiently do His will during the transition times, we will be better prepared to serve Him as we should when He call us.

This song really spoke to and for me. Thank you. I do pray that God hears my heart. I never have the "right" words that express my feelings. (ReginaV). Having extra lonely hours lately.....just sad emptiness.
ReplyDeletei cried while i listened to this. i grow so weary and the road alone seems so long yet i know GOD is with us all. GOD bless
ReplyDeleteThank You Ferree for the song. I've heard it dozens of time yet I sit here with tears streaming down my cheeks. My heart needed this right now it seems. Sometimes we do not even know what we need. This song is just like a prayer for me and has been since I first heard it.
ReplyDeleteAlso want to thank 'MOM' for her comment it was so helpful to hear that God's will may come in stages.
Blessings to all.
