Sometimes when we cannot put words to the ache in our heart, God's Word says it for us. The Lord is no stranger to our despair. The enemies of our peace are worry, doubt, and trusting that our feelings are more real than God's truth. But one step at a time, if we cling to Him, we will be able to proclaim the last two verses just like the writer of this psalm. Watch for the transition and transformation of his outlook as you meditate here today. Ask yourself, What made the change? ♥ ferree
Psalm 13 (New International
Version, ©2010)
For the
director of music. A psalm of David.
How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, LORD my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the LORD’s praise,
for he has been good to me.
This rings so true today! Trust has been the key for me - during all those terribly dark days of early grief and now in the daily "day to day" life of "just me". Some days it's so hard - but many days it's getting easier.
